Laptop freezing while gaming

I am using a HP laptop with i5-4200m, geforce 820m, 4gb ddr3 ram and windows 8.

I mostly play DOTA2 on it.

Laptop recently is freezing though while gaming. It is becoming non responsive for a few minutes, after that working fine. The random freezes are coming very frequently. I have checked my hard disk and its working fine with no weak sectors. Also both the CPU and GPU are running at optimal temperature.

Please suggest fix to the issue.

Maybe, you should run some RAM test. Or you should chech the defragment.

Done both, no issues found.

I usually keep an OSD enabled of hardware statistics for cpu, gpu and ram during gaming. No issues found there.

Personally i would upgrade to windows 10 and update all your drivers and see if the issue goes away ,windows 10 wont be free for much longer and i have found most games run smoother under 10 with small increase in fps.
and if you are worried about Microsoft spying on windows 7,8 and 8.1 send back the same telemetry data as 10 which was pushed in a windows update but in windows 10 you can shut all that stuff off.

Also there is a chance you have bitcoin miner trojan that use rootkits so you wont see them.
1) download roguekiller run a scan and clean
2) download adwcleaner and jrt and run those
3) download malwarebytes antimalware run scan and clean
4) download Emsisoft Emergency Kit update and run that.

new ones are smart only start during a load and kill game fps the progams can be downloaded from: http/www.bleepingcomputer.com/
