Hi, I was looking for some laptops in a budget of no more than 400$ (I wasn't expecting much) and I came across with this laptop:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+K-Series+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Indigo/8416114.p?id=1218875430024&skuId=8416114&st=k55&cp=1&lp=1#tab=overview

It has an AMD A8-4500m, which is pretty good for the price (380$), but it says it has an UMA GPU, just that. It makes me think that it doesn't have the 7640g GPU, or maybe I'm just getting uninformed by BestBuy? What can you tell me about that laptop?

If it effectively has the 7640g, how's that for gaming? I'm not expecting that much, and I, respectfully, don't need you to tell me to get another laptop, my budget is limited 😉 Just tell me how it gets along with games.

Thanks!

Solution
The A8 is ok for gaming you just want fast RAM considering it uses system memory rather than it's own memory. You would get around 40 FPS on Skyrim and Battlefield 3 at medium.
You will not get anywhere close to 40 fps on those games at medium settings. I promise you. Just go to craigslist or ebay and try to find a deal on a better gaming laptop with that amount of cash. You will get more out of your money that way. I can 100% guarantee you that you will not get 40 fps at medium settings with that. Maybe 30+ fps on low with BF3 if you are lucky.

I use an A10 which is just slightly better at gaming that the A8 and I get that many FPS on BF3 though it may be because I have a lot of RAM at high speed.

Here are the benchmarks for his on board GPU with NO dedicated memory. http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7640G.69836.0.html as you can look at other reviews BF3 is a more graphical game and on low you will not get more than 30 fps out of either of these games. Buying better RAM will not do you anything good, it would be like beating a dead horse. If you are still thinking about a laptop I would suggest my first post and try to find a good one used on ebay or craigslist. You would get better performance for the price.

I don't know if one with a dedicated GPU will get on my budget. What laptop would you recommend?
