Hello people of Tomshardware,
I am looking to get a new laptop which is gaming capable, I currently own a macbook which I'm going to sell if I find a suitable gaming laptop. I have found a nice 13 inch laptop which has a GTX 860m 2GB DDR5, I7-4710m, 8GB of kingston memory, 1080p screen and a 1TB sshd all for around £700. On this laptop I want to be able to play Fifa 15 with good frame rates because it is crucial for this game, games like stranded deep and snow but most off all Grand Theft Auto 5 when it is released. Do you think that laptop would be able to run those games at 1080p at about medium to low settings above 30fps? (I am willing to drop to 720p for GTA 5) The only other thing this laptop will be doing is programming which I assume it is more than capable of. Thank you for any responses.

Well i can run on my old pc btf4 with 30 fps on low-mid setting FiFa 15 will run awsum other games im not sure but you can google game debate and write down like this "game debate Gta 5" and select your laptop specs and you"ll see if you can run it.

Thanks man this will help me in deciding what laptop I should go for. The annoying thing is at the £1000 and below price range most of the laptops look really unattractive which puts me off so much :pfff:

Yeah I found the exact same thing, I also struggled to find any laptop less than about £900 with a capable GPU so I was quite pleased with this website

The games should run well at the settings you have said. But my main worry is the cooling, I have never used this laptop before but make sure the cooling is enough and make sure the screen is not too small for you as for me I would never game on a screen less than 15 inches for a laptop for long periods.
