Laptop has black screen, even when plugged into monitor

So I've had this Acer aspire for about 5 months now and it has been connected to an external monitor for about 3 1/2 months. I unplugged the cable from the laptop to the monitor because I was moving my desk and when I went to use the laptop for music, it was just a black screen. I've tried the Fn+F5, tried holding the power button and I've also tried booting it without the RAM. Damn, I've even tried using a different HDD and it was no use.My phone won't even charge on it! I don't understand, has anyone else had this problem? Is the computer done for?

Does the built in screen also not work? if thats the case it might be done for. If you've only had it for 5 months, best thing to do is get it fixed under warranty.

If that's the case, can I salvage my Hard drive? I don't mind getting a new computer, but I need to get the stuff off my hard drive =[

You should be able to salvage the HDD and put it into an enclosure.
