Laptop having power trouble after battery and AC Adapter replaced.

I have an HP Pavilion Notebook that is having trouble powering on even after the battery and AC Adapter have been replaced. When it is plugged in with the battery attached it will not even power up properly, when it is plugged in without the battery it will power on, and if you attach the battery after will stay on but say "Not Charging". Any idea what is causing this problem?

Did you replace them with genuine HP parts? Cheap aftermarket chargers and batteries can cause performance problems due to insufficient power being supplied.

Did you replace them with genuine HP parts? Cheap aftermarket chargers and batteries can cause performance problems due to insufficient power being supplied.

The charger is, the battery however HP no longer supports, so an aftermarket had to be purchased.

Would there be any other possibilities though before I go out and get another battery?
