Laptop i5 or i7

Solution
The i7 has better single-core performance, but other than that it's pretty much the same thing. You wouldn't notice much of a difference with the i7

Oh well, accidentally unselected my best answer. Go for the i5, a little performance gain in single-core applications but nothing to warrant the extra $120

Basically the i5 6200u and the i7 6500u are the same cpus (dual core, skylake, 15w) and they only differ in max cpu speed and 1MB cache more. I don't think that the upgrade worth the $120
