Laptop is insanely slow

So I have a dell Inspiron from like 5 years ago and when I go on it I always spend forever opening anything so I wanted to know if anyone can like skype call me some night and help (I'm 15, don't be a weirdo) or can anyone offer me a video or advice on what to do? I want to clean out the hard drive and basically start off with a new system but still have my operating system, the best way I could put it is I want the pc to be like when I first opened it. Also I don't have a lot of the CDs for software that came with it, and some of the keys on my keyboard are dead. So if there are any thoughts please help me out? Thanks!
