laptop is not detecting wifi and wire

my friends laptop is not detecting wifi and wire. i checked few things but no result what could be the problem?

Sometimes viruses hinder internet connection. Have you checked the drivers for both the LAN and WiFi/WLAN? They may need reinstalled.
