Laptop needs help

My Toshiba L775 Wil turn on but will make no sound, will not boot, and screen stays black. I did the power button and battery. Did replace the bios battery. Did the external screen to no avail....this is my livelihood my work I can't work without it. Plz help. Thnx

A common problem on laptops that turn on but you can't get a display signal on, externally or on screen, is the video went out on them. Considering it's age that would be my guess. If you replace it and get a USB hard drive adapter or bay, you should be able to recover your data from it's hard drive, as long as you don't have it encrypted.
