laptop not working properly

So this problem started a week before, whenever i plug in the charger it doesn't start charging and after hours of trying it will start charging. I read somewhere that we could use the laptop without battery just by connecting it to mains. My battery is actually not working properly ( as reported by my laptop). I removed my battery and connected my laptop to the mains but now the laptop does not start , i would hav to spend hours trying to remove the connector and putting it in again but at last it would work ( waste of time)..i took it to the hp service even they could not find the solution..so pls help he resolve this issue.
I hav windows 10 installed.

that particular device may not allow for running it on the charger cord alone. It happens. That said, have you tried a different charger cord? If a cord is damaged, even if you can't see the damage, it will not be able to charge the battery and run the laptop at the same time.

But mine is hp probook 4440s and i think this model can be used without battery.
P.S I checked it with another cord but still the problem persists.

If another cord also won't work, then either your battery needs replacing, or the charging circuit on the motherboard has gone bad.
