If you need as in need the performance on the go, or if it will help to be mobile then laptop. But from a performance/budget, pc would yield far greater results than a laptop. Laptops are a lot better than they used to, and a 870m880m are very good and can play high/ultra game setting. But those laptop graphics come in around a $1500-2000 price, and a desktop $200-250 card can do the same.

If you need it to be mobile, the asus g750 jm/js/jz models are great. A little more expensive than an msi with same specs, but cooling is the one thing the asus excels at. And I can tell you that video editing on a laptop or anything for that matter is very demanding, and will yield thermal throttling from the msi. That's not a maybe that's a for sure thing, the asus will far much better without any throttling. Yes not as top notch specs for the same price as msi, but you'll get 100% of your cpu/gpu while rendering, vs the msi while throttling will bounce between 100%-50%-100%-30% ect.

But for desktop, average rough guess will yield 50% better specs and performance vs any laptop at that price.
