laptop performance differences

I am deciding whether to get a laptop with an i5 4200m with a gtx 860m, or an i7 4700mq with a gtx 765m. Which one will perform better? Will the cpus make a lot of difference in performance for the gpus? Also, is there a big difference between 4gb and 8gb or ram?

The CPU will not make much of a difference at all, but the difference between GPUs will.
yes there is a big difference, As a standard you want to go with 8GB of RAM.

but the i7 is better than the i5

For gaming, get the better graphics - 860m (plus i5)

most pc's are being with 8gb now. That's because apps are getting bigger, games more demanding and people like to keep multiple web pages open at once (like here on Tom's). Watchdogs is recommending 8gb now.
