I have a Lenovo legion y520 gaming laptop. a oem charger cost is around 70 dollars, I can get a aftermarket for 16 dollars. big difference. my question Is, is it safe to use a aftermarket charger? all the specs match as well.

Some cheap replacement chargers are an accident waiting to happen, others from more reputable sources are usually trustworthy (ie those from PC World/Currys Digital) as reflected in the higher price --- personally I'd always buy OEM replacement where possible, and where not possible I'd be looking to spend a bit more than the UK equivalent of 16 dollars --- ridiculously cheap for a power brick (and you have to ask yourself why).
