So my laptop is about 4-5 years old. Throughout most of those years i have played games like World of Warcraft, Counterstrike, Guild Wars quite well. But now i would not be able to run those games very well. It would be too laggy because my computer has lost alot of its performance. Is there anytihng i can to do tune it up to be better?

Specs-
AMD TURION dual core 1.6mhz cpu
2gb ram
ATI Radeon x1270
160gb HD

An air compressor will do fine cleaning your notebook, though you get much more dust out if you can actually take the system apart.

Speedfan is alright for temperature monitoring, but many temp programs don't give the right this or that temp. My suggestion would be to run at least 2 - CPUID's hardware monitor, coretemp, everest, and realtemp are...
Top 3 possibilities:
Virus/Malware
Excess heat due to not having had the cooling system cleaned.
Necessary programs and processes running in the background.

Have you had the laptop cleaned and reinstalled the OS any time recently?

It cant be virus/malware because ive reinstalled the OS several times. So it probably with be the fact that i have not cleaned it a single time. Could i use an air compressor for it? My CPU usage has always been high and i tried everything online to try to fix it and nothing ever work. Could cleaning the cooling help? Thanks
