laptop question image processing

hi my name is John and i was looking to buy the Acer Aspire V5-171-6422 11.6-Inch Laptop with :
Intel Core i5 3317U 1.7 GHz (3 MB Cache)
6 GB SDRAM
500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
11.6-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics 4000
Windows 8
and i just wondering is it good laptop for image processing? i would like to run photoshop and lightroom aplication.

Hey John, if your focus is image processing/Photoshop/Lightroom, you really want to find a laptop that has in i7 processor and a SSD for a hard drive. That will give you MUCH better performance than the one you listed above.

Hopefully you also have an external monitor as that 11.6 inch screen is not good for image processing.

I7 does not necessarily mean better than an i5. Could you give more info on what exactly you do? Image processing covers many different tasks.
