Laptop randomly freezes/locks up and have to restart-No BSOD

Hi everyone,

My dell laptop xps 15 L502x keeps freezing/locking up randomly but no BSOD. It could be between startup, 5 min or 3 hours. It's getting to be really annoying. I have done the following things but nothing has worked.

-ram test with windows memory diagnostic came up clean
-HDD test with HD tune said my hard drive was healthy. I just replaced the hard drive about 5 months ago
-I cleaned the insides when I replaced the hard drive so maybe I need to clean it again?
-Cleaned up registry and other files using PCCleaner
-Updated all drivers
-did a system restore

I was thinking it was my power supply since my battery gave me a warning sign that it needed to be replaced. I removed it and charged it with my universal adapter but it still locks up.

It is because of battery if the battery unable to store the energy it tends to heat up much faster so at that time battery cannot provide the corresponding power so your system freezes some times due to high temp your system may shut down automatically so in order to fix it check the vent holes also if possible check whether is there any dust accumulation on the heat sink or not if not just replace the battery.
