Hello Everyone!

I'm looking for suggestions on a laptop which would meet my requirements, as follows:

1. What is your budget? around $1000 - $1300

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Probably around 15"

3. What screen resolution do you want? 1080 x 1920 is best

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? A bit of both...

5. How much battery life do you need? At least 2-3 hours, although the more is better!

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? I would like something capable of running games such as Skyrim, tf2, on med. to high and some upcoming games on med. settings

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) A variety of things: Gaming, coding ,schoolwork, internet browsing, watching movies, etc.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? at least 750 gb, but 1 tb is better

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. I'd prefer amazon, newegg, or manufacturer websites, but i'm open to other suggestions.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? As long as I can... probably 4-5 years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? While i'd prefer an optical drive, it's not a necessity

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons? no real preference

13. What country do you live in? U.S.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

So there are my requirements... If anyone has suggestions/ preferences between different brands/models, that would be great! So far, i've looked at the Lenovo y500 and some Asus laptops. Also, if there are any laptops coming out in the next ~2 months which would be a better option, I can wait (although I'd rather buy the laptop sooner than later).

Thanks!
