Laptop recommendations for a student

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a laptop for university, and am struggling to find anything decent for a good price. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I have a few requirements, as listed below:

• 
  ■ 1080p display, preferrably 15" or higher
  ■ SSD for a boot drive and HDD for mass storage as standard (Important)
  ■ Decent keyboard and trackpad
  ■ Ethernet port
  ■ Priced around £700

I have no real preference as to the CPU or dedicated graphics, although this would be a nice bonus. My intention is to use it every day for general work purposes.

then get a fast external for all your data, and use OneDrive or DropBox or GoogleDrive to store ALL data in cloud as well as the external.

I got my kid the really cheapo 300 dollar model and upgraded to 8GB and an 500GB Evo 850 Pro I had lying around. it's a real workhorse

this might be good too, but it comes with Home Windows, but that should be good, Pro just adds a few features

also, add a powered usb 3.0 hub so you can plug in external drives, monitors, keyboards, phones, and charge devices too.

so now we just spent about 550 pounds sterling one of the computers above and the hub, maybe you want a nice mechanical keyboard or an external usb BLURAY writeble drive for massive backups
