1. What is your budget?
$1000 preferably less so I can pay for it all myself. I have $600 myself; my dad agreed to pay for the rest but he just got me a guitar for $300 so I would like to not spend any more of his money.
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
13-15.6 inches because I have a 24 inch monitor.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
Does not matter.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Desktop replacement, I don't have a desktop so I would prefer power over portability. That said I still do need it to be fairly portable if I need to take it to school.
5. How much battery life do you need?
4-5 Hours for school. Rest of the time it will be plugged into a charger.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
All hopefully at 1080p, I wouldn't mind lowering settings though.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Photoshop
Very little Animation
Bunch of guitar stuff so a good sound card would be a huge pro
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500 gigs minimum, 1tb preferred.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
3-4 yrs, I will hopefully still be able to play modern games at low when I upgrade.
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Preferred:
Samsung- My dad is an employee so he can get discounted prices on computers
Dell- Warranty is great and there computers are pretty
Disliked:
Acer- Customer service is horrible
HP- I have had 2 before both broke on me

If you think a desktop will fit me better than please say so because I do have a laptop currently its just not that great (can't run Left 4 Dead 2 at minimum at 1080p). It also rarely moves from my desk or gets disconnected from a monitor.
