Laptop resets with USB insert

My laptop slid off a packed suitcase and landed on the side wherein a USB headset was attached. The headset's USB was damaged, as was that of the laptop. I believe that the displaced internal USB port may be pressing on a reset button, because the laptop immediately shuts down if I insert anything into either port on the affected side.

Any thoughts on how to correct the issue of the USB port hitting that cable (or any other theories as to what might be happening)? I might take it to a PC repair place eventually for a looksie, but I was hoping that I might just be able to deal with it myself.

Thanks!

You can do it by your self if you have experience. USB port is damaged, and creates short circuit that power off your lap. You need to access to your mobo to see damage. It's best to take it for a repair.
