Laptop Restarts after Standby

Hi, my laptop is Dell Inspiron 14 7000, Windows 10. I bought it a year ago. After the latest BIOS update last week, my laptop restarts when I close the lid or put it in standby. Boot time also significantly slowed (around 2 mins). I've tried most of the solutions online including resetting/reformatting but to no avail. Anybody else experiencing this?

Solution
DO these in order:

1. go to Windows 10 power settings (advanced) and you need to select the one its using that has mark on its spot.
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2843-change-power-plan-settings-windows-10-a.html

in advanced settings open power buttons and lid. Tell me what you have in set there, maybe wrong settings.

2. going to bios

. Press F2 repeatetly when booting. You can try either holding it when booting. WHen you get there press f9 and save, after that save settings with f10 and yes

3. Hard reset removing battery you need screwdriver, but this could void your warranty? Do you sitll have it

What model number dell inspiron 14? You can find it behind laptop. go to bios settings in boot and press f9 for default settings then f10 to save those.
If not work then turn off laptop and take power cable and battery out SO it has no power. Press power button for 1 full minute just hold it. Put power cable back and try to boot, does it go away?

Hi thanks for the reply, not sure what you mean by model number but I see "Reg model: P74G" and "Reg type no.: P74G001" in the back of the laptop. How do I go to bios setting in boot?

I can't presently do your second suggestion as the battery is built in the laptop (I'll have to use screwdrivers). Do you have any other suggestions?

I’m also experiencing this same exact thing with my 2016 HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 13.3" Touchscreen laptop after last week. Any solutions?

I have an inspiron 15 thats doing this too - its just over a year old so out of warranty, which is a real pain and there is no help on their forum. Did you manage to fix it from your end?
