Question Laptop screen has a horizontal band of fading covering top quarter of screen.

Hi there.

1. Check in BIOS screen same thing happening.
If yes: .Make sure to update the Display driver to latest.

2. try moving your LCD lid to different angle several times if there is any change in any angle (display is working fine) that means your LCD cable is defected.
If no change Display panel is defected.

Thanks for your response, the issue is consistent when in BIOS and I've got the latest drivers. Opening and half-closing the laptop screen repeatedly seems to do nothing and the faded gradient pattern remains consistent. So I guess the panel is the issue then. Thanks again for your help!
