Question Laptop screen only works when connected to an HDMI

Hi, my laptop screen has stopped working. But when I tried it out with my TV trough an HDMI cable it worked, both my laptop screen and TV . But as soon as I unplugged the HDMI everything goes back to black on my screen. Please help, I can't study without my PC
