Well there are a few things you can try. First I would suggest turning off the laptop and connecting an external monitor. Next turn on the external monitor and then turn on the laptop. Do you get the same issues on the external monitor?

If yes, then it is probably your graphics card that needs replacing.

If no, then next I would open up the laptop and see if the ribbon cable connecting the display to the base is pinched, damaged, loose, bent, etc. If so, reinsert it or replace it. If that is not the problem, then that leaves the inverter or the display itself needing replacement.
