Laptop screen protector: good or bad?

Anyone have any experience using a screen protector on their laptop screens? I have one on my iPhone but I've never tried it on my laptop screen. I have a 14 inch Lenovo Y410p

I have a screen protector on my Lumia 822 phone but don't see a reason to put one on any device that does not have a touch screen. Its not really good or bad, just pointless. Without it being a touch screen the only time you'd need to touch it is to clean it.
