I'm working on restoring a HP DV2000 and find myself once again in a bind.
The laptop came without a hard drive. I sourced a hard drive, only to realize that the laptop was also missing the SATA adapter and the drive caddy.
Then I sourced that, only to find that the caddy only comes with 4 screws to mount the hard drive to the caddy, and nothing to mount the caddy to the laptop drive bay.
In the hardware service manual, the specifications for the screws I need are:
Phillips PM2.5×5.0 .

As luck would have it, I don't have any of those - they're a tad tinier than any in my collection of screws.
Looking around, I can find sources for M2.5×5.0 screws. Are there any differences between the two designations? One source seems to think they're fungible. I'm not sure and I'd rather not order them if they won't work.
