Hello,
I have a Lenovo Z61m 9450 HAG laptop. About a month ago I bought a new power adaptor for my laptop.
The laptop worked fine for the first day with the new power adaptor. The next day it begun to shut it self off after 10 sec when I press the power button. When I compared the original power brick with the new one I saw that the power outputs didn't match. The original one was 90W, 20V and had 4.5 A and the new one had 90W, 19V (+/-5%) and had 4.73 A. I tried with the original adapter but no dice. I tried to clean the laptop from dust, hold the power button for 30 seconds (without electricity getting to the computer), I tried to remove the BIOS battery for 30 seconds and I hear the fan running when I power it on. I cant get into BIOS because it shuts down no mather what I do after 10 seconds. The screen appears when I press the power button. No error code appears on the screen just the normal screen on boot up. The Windows loading page doesn't even have a chance to show up. The warranty expired in 2009. I don't hear any beeps. I looked at the manual for non beep symptoms and it says that the RAM is faulty. I don't think so because the screen wouldn't show up then. The laptops hardware hasn't been modified.
Laptop specifications:
Processor: Intel T7200(2GHz)
RAM: PC2-5300 667 MHz 1 GB (one stick)
Graphic card: 128MB ATI Radeon X1400
OS: Windows XP Professional
HDD: 120GB 5400rpm HD
Thanks for your help & time!!!
Much love!
