laptop sleeps when am playing games on high graphics

My dell i7 8gb ram AMD radeon r5 m4330 goes to sleep when i run games on high graphics but the laptop does not over heat although when i place the laptop in front of an air conditioner it doesnt go off for some games but others like NBA2K17 it still sleeps

How can you be sure it's not overheating? Are you logging both CPU and GPU temps?
