Laptop Sony Vaio to display Philips 170Cw

Hi guys, my laptop screen broken so I have to connect laptop to Philips 170cw monitor through vga cable , it work fine , but when I start windows logon the screen are black then flashing to white black .. my problem is I need to install window but when pc boot I can't see anything so is there a solution even fn+f7 not work , my pc is sony vaio sve1314cxb and my monitor is Philips 170cw

If you can't see anything on the external monitor now either, then one of three things is going on.

1. The cable connecting the external monitor needs to be disconnected and reconnected (while the laptop is off). Or the cable is damaged.

2. The external monitor is now not working properly and needs to be replaced.

3. Your graphics card needs replacing. Which will probably mean your motherboard will need to be replaced.

If your laptop is still under warranty, you should contact the manufacturer about any repairs or replacements.
