laptop speaker placement

so i have a biggest question, i see many laptop nowadays have speaker on the bottom, i also just purchased a new laptop, but my biggest question is why many laptop manufacture nowadays put speaker under the main body of the laptop(bottom), which i actually dont like because the sound is bad like cheap quality speaker, meanwhile in used to day many laptop have speaker near keyboard usually and it sounds better. could anyone please answer?

By removing the speakers from the top, they can make the laptop physically smaller. The underside isn't filled with keyboard, so they have some room without making the case 1 sq-in larger.

Yeah, pretty much that is the reason. Gaming laptops generally do not have down facing speakers... at least not the ones I have been looking at.
