Have a crazy computer problem with a personal laptop.
So, I installed Debian, but something was wrong with the bootloader....when you booted it up, it would give the "No disk/no OS" black screen, making it look like there was no OS installed, however you could hit F7 and access a boot menu, select the SSD Debian was supposed to be installed on, and that would boot the OS.
Unfortunately, I left it running at work the other day, battery started to die so it went into Hibernation mode...and now it's stuck in Hibernation mode. When I power it on, I get the message that it's coming out of hibernation mode, and then it jumps straight to the "no disk/no OS" black screen....the killer is that it completely bypasses the options normally given to enter the boot menu or the BIOS.
I've tried booting from USB and DVD without success. I reseated the SSD. I can't find the CMOS battery; probably soldered on to the MB somewhere....I'm at a loss....any ideas?
