Laptop stuck on dell logo fixed now issue with HDD

Bought a used laptop Dell Latitude E6540, was working fine, let windows 10 install updates, and installed a couple of other programs then restarted and got stuck on the Dell logo screen, so i tried removing the battery and pressing the power button and it didn't work..
BUT i took the advice of Laptop_Nerd here (thank you btw) and removed the HDD and tried another one, worked fine, i put back the old HDD same issue happens, now the problem is i had just finished moving ALL MY DATA on that HDD... so is there a way for me to fix the HDD or at least get my data back.. please it's important

Put the old hdd as an external enclosures, and save your data.

Okay I'll get an external enclosure first, but what if the computer still doesn't read it?

Then it depend on how much $$$ you want to spend to get the data back.

Thank you so much man, it worked, got the external enclosure and all the data is there.
i don't understand why it still causes the laptop to freeze but works fine as external!
