Hello all.
I'm looking for suggestions on a laptop for my wife. She is a High School teacher/Masters student. She currently has a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5934
1. What is your budget?
1000USD but would prefer no more than 600USD
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
At least 15.6"
3. What screen resolution do you want?
At least 1280x800
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable, she takes it to work and class often.
5. How much battery life do you need?
3hrs would be great, but at least 2.5
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Just World of Warcraft, mid to high
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Some photo stuff, but mainly word processing, data entry, database programs.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
Not much, 300gb or so should be fine, but more is ok.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No preference, just no Microcenter nearby.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
3-4 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Bluray would be great, but not a deal breaker. DVD RW would be the minimum.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
No preference.
13. What country do you live in?
USA
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
She types a lot, so a full size keyboard is ideal (doesn't need a numpad but it would help). She also has a preference for soft or no click keyboards.
