Laptop toshiba satellite l55-a5284 new, no charge

Hi, I have a toshiba satellite laptop, l55-a5284, the problem is that it does not charge the battery, it only works when connected to the AC line.
The laptop is newly purchased, but has no warranty, I can not find where the battery goes.
I do not know how to repair it, try to update the BIOS, but at the moment of running the BIOS installer a message comes out that no installed battery was found, I do not know what the error was.
I want to know why it does not charge the battery when the laptop is new.

Bad Battery. The battery is detectable by the system if it says no battery it means that it is not communicating or it is a bad battery.
