I'm a highschool student -software engineer-, last year, I bought Asus X555DG, but, that is the worst laptop ever, my friend have a much more powerful laptop with around the same price, and quiter too (able to play GTA V at around 40-60 fps, wth), my laptop is like = weak + loud, even when I open a light app, like a browser or something, the fan sometimes goes crazy, I just can't hold the embarrassment anymore

And the title says it all, I'm looking for a laptop that suitable for my kind of stuff, and able to play light gaming, like cs go, dota 2, or something like that

Thanks For Your Help

A refurb is THE BEST you're gonna get for under $600. Just make sure it has a decent warranty and you won't have to "buy a new one in a few months".

This is actually a little over $600 but its a STEAL.

Get the refurbished with 1050. I'd buy refurbished from places like Newegg and direct from manufacturer. 1050 will be MUCH more powerful than 940mx and it's cheaper. Also 7200u is has a lower base clock and turbo than the 7300hq IIRC and less cores.

If you can stretch your budget a bit I'd recommend this then: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0746P25QX/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512765438&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=acer+swift+3

8th gen i5 - (2x as many cores as previous gen)
Mx150 gpu
Ultrabook form factor is portable for school

Typically ultrabooks with dgpu and better cpu will be a bit more expensive as they have to fit all those components into a slim form factor.

I much prefer the slim metal chassis on my lenovo which is .62" thick (also uses 8th gen i7 and mx150), I believe the Acer is 0.7".

Well what is it you want? You say you don't want a big laptop with a 1050 so I recommend an ultrabook with mx150 (cause that'll be able to handle all the games you play). Also it's very portable and will be quieter.

At a $600 budget take your pic, better gpu/cpu and probably worse/bulkier build quality

Or something more portable with nice build quality, but with worse gpu (and by worse mx150 is still a great card, plays everything I've thrown at it so far).

If you want a slim portable with 1050 you're looking at $1k+.
