Hi guys and gals been spending a bunch of time looking around and driving myself crazy with so many options so i hope you all can limit the list

What I'm hoping for is a gaming laptop or at least a laptop capable of gaming even if it's not buffed up. I would be using it exclusively for gaming. The main games i would be playing are star trek online and star wars the old republic. I've checked the requirements for both and it appears the general idea is at least 2.5 ghz and a mid range graphic card.

I would be doing a lot of steam yet those are even less needy. I would like to maybe try gta 5 with it but honestly wouldn't be to surprised if that's unlikely. I would need a cd drive for older games not yet on steam. $900 is my preferred limit though i may be capable of flexing a bit and maybe using black Friday/cyber Monday to my advantage. I'm comfortable with not being at ultra on said games. Was playing swtor and sto at low across the board with a old ThinkPad which refused to play WOW or runescape and was content so no real complaints if i can't access the greatest. Thank you for reading

hoping i put this in the right category

If you live near a Micro Center then I would get the ASUS FX53VD-MS72 for $799.99 http://www.microcenter.com/product/475522/FX53VD-MS72_156_Gaming_Laptop_Computer_-_Black_Metal (unless you have a higher budget and can get a laptop with a GTX 1060)

900 dollars is a really good budget actually

At least in the US you can get a laptop that runs all games at 1080p resolution. GTA V, Titanfall 2, Resident Evil 7, whatever you want

http://www.pro-star.com/index.php?r=product/configure&model=N850HK1 this is $850 w/o O.S but you can get the O.S for very cheap

If you can flex your budget to $950 approximately you get a GTX 1060, which is way better than a 1050 ti

http://www.pro-star.com/index.php?r=product/configure&model=N850HP6

That one would be running all the latest games at 1080p ultra settings

Compare them and see if the $100 price premium is worth it. Both have i7s (which are good for streamming) and 1080P IPS displays so the main difference is the GPU and obviously better GPU is always better

Hope it helps

hello,

if you can be a little flexible with your budget, i would recommend getting one with gtx 1060 GPU.
here are the options:

Yeah 1060 would be totally ideal. It is the best price-to-performance GPU when it comes tu laptops it can run most games at ultra settings and fairly decent framerates
