Laptop vs 2-in-1

My old HP laptop died 2 years ago and I've been using my phone while on campus for school work. Now I'm considering getting something so I don't use my phone, but I'm not sure what.

I was thinking about getting this Acer 2-in-1 Chromebook: https/www.amazon.com/dp/B01J42JPJG?psc=1 but I also saw this laptop that has really good reviews also by Acer: https/www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1IO3QW/ref=psdc_13896615011_t2_B01DBGVB7K .

Price isn't an issue. The laptop has really nice reviews and so does the Chromebook. I've never had a 2-in-1 so I'm not sure how I'd feel about it, but it's pretty modern given it's a laptop but can fold and all that fancy technology stuff good for when I'm in labs and want to see diagrams. I'd use either for mostly school work with low-demanding games on the side.

Are you sure price isn't an issue? If that's the case, why not go for a proper Windows-based computer? Like this 15.6" Lenovo Yoga from Amazon US, priced at $719:

The Acer Chromebook is basically a very large smartphone, which is probably why you considered it to begin with. If you'd like a laptop computer, you should consider minimum 13.3". The Acer Aspire is a full-sized computer, but it's low on RAM and uses an i3 CPU. But if these are your options, you'd definitely be better off with the 15.6" Aspire.

I mean money isn't an issue between these two. I'd rather have it no more than $300.

Have you ever used a Chromebook? They are inexpensive and relatively easy to use, but Chrome OS is simply a web browser. It is not compatible with Windows and you cannot install programs; only web apps; you cannot even install printer drivers. To print from a Chromebook you will need a network attached printer since it basically uses WiFi to send printer jobs.

I would definitely choose the Acer laptop. The Core i3-7100u is decent enough to play some non demanding games as well.
