I have a laptop HP R007TX. From the beginning it have a problem in WiFi. It works flawlessly, but then suddenly it disconnects from my router. Then sometime it refused to connect again & sometime ever disappear my router from the list of WiFi network. But 1 or 2times of off-on the wifi hardware makes it run again.
So I called HP they just replaced the WiFi card. But still I'm having the problem. Is it a hardware issue or driver issue?? What do you think friends?? Plz let me know.

Solution
sorry for late reply , if the 2nd fix doesn't working you should replace it with the new one because your laptop still in a good model and you will not getting the dropping selling price , indeed you must add a bit of money for gaming laptop. oh ya one thing to do uninstall the wifi driver on your laptop and install it with the new version try this http://www8.hp.com/us/en/troubleshooting.html maybe it should helps you...and the last if you bring the laptop to the HP service center tell them to check the metal clip near the wifi adapter...good luck

RESOLVED!! Thk you jayadratha. My problem is resolved thanks to you. My problem started after upgrading from Win7 to Win10. At startup Windows started fine, wifi connected and my signal was strong. As soon as I connected to any browser my wifi would disconnect. Each morning I was able to use the windows network troubleshooter to reconnect me to wifi but it never told me how Window's did this and Microsoft didn't even know??. It was a nuisance. I gave Microsoft remote access to my computer numerous times and they could not fix this. Microsoft blamed my ISP, my ISP blamed Microsoft, and Microsoft also blamed me, etc. As usual it turned out to be an easy fix as I expected it would be sooner or later. This annoying problem is now fixed thanks to you. Many people are having this issue and it's such a easy fix. To anyone having this wifi connection problem, try what jayadratha suggested. Thx.

I have a similar problem with my laptop. A month ago I installed Kaspersky antivirus and from that day on the wifi cuts off if I don't use internet for an hour or so. And impossible to reconnect, each time I have to reboot the computer to get wifi again. I've tried disconnecting Kaspersky the problem remains, I'lm on Windows 10 (a piece of crap that is). Maybe my problem contains a clue that could help someone solve both of ours.

I've got a PC on Win 7 with a wireless adapter on PCI bus. I have done the "un-tick allow PC to turn this off" trick and I still have the problem. I see people on several forums with all kinds of PCs, laptops. win 7 , win 8 , win 10. All with the same problem. There must be some fundamental thing going on.....

I have had the same problem and it is very frustrating, I found out it happens when running on battery power only, so what happens is the computer tries to conserve power by turning off the wifi. The solution is to change the wifi power settings.
Go to Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power Options - Change Plan Settings - Advanced Power Settings - Wireless Adapter Settings - Power Saving Mode, change this to Maximum Performance and this hopefully will solve the problem as it did for me.

I've got the same problem and tried every solution listed in this thread and to no avail. Laptop is only 2 weeks old and has been dropping connections right out of the box. Any other solutions? I havn't replaced the WiFi card but that might be next

Frustration Eradicated!

Right click the windows or start button
Click Power Options
Click Change plan settings for whichever option you have selected (Balanced, High Performance or Power Saver)
Click Change advanced power settings
Expand Wireless Adapter Settings
Expand Power Saving Mode
Change both "On battery" and "Plugged in" to LOW POWER SAVING
This will keep your wifi adapter from shutting down to conserve power and also keep you from having to restart your lapdog.

To anyone: "allow the computer to turn off this device" is only supposed to work on battery power, and be careful as closing the lid and putting the device in your laptop bag may keep it trying to use the WiFi and draining your battery (and keeping your device hot). (BTW, I read that with Lithium ion batteries you should keep them no less than 50% power or the battery won't last as long.)

Also check your router settings as my Netgear router would drop my laptop (MacBook) and other wireless devices until the router was rebooted. After I turned off nPnP in the router it no longer dropped connections. Other routers may also have this issue, especially if it's a re-branded Netgear. Now if you're using nPnP this solution may not be practical. (If you don't know about nPnP Google it.)
