Question Laptop will not recognize storage drive in BIOS. Is there a setting I'm missing?

I recently acquired an ASUS TUF Gaming laptop, model FA506IU. When I turn it on, it automatically takes me to the BIOS menu and I see there is no storage detected even though there is an SSD installed. Is there something I'm missing or is the laptop no good?

test the ssd outside of the laptop on another working pc/laptop?
