Hello, I just got my new Steelseries Siberia v2 headset, and it has 2 seperate cables for audio and mic. The probem is that my laptop has only 1 jack with a little headphones and mic icon, so it should be combo. I bought audio splitter like this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-Jack-Plug-Stereo-Socket/dp/B00005V37M
But when I plug everything in, its much quieter. And when i check sound in HD audio manager, like first is left side headset, but it sounds in both sides.

So i need other audio splitter or i can solve it somehow?
Sorry for bad english. :(

I think what you need is something like a TRRS splitter like this one http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-headsets-separate-headphone-microphone/dp/B004SP0WAQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1455420925&sr=1-2&keywords=trrs+splitter. What you bought was a TRS splitter, note the difference in the plugs between the two. TRS plug is "divided" into 3 which are Tip-Ring-Sleeve, while TRRS has 4 which are Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve.

The problem is not with the splitter but the stupid laptop. For some reason the newer laptops have stopped producing their equipment with separate audio and headphone jacks. In fact when you plug in to the single jack a message pops up asking if you want to use mic or headphones. This is really bad for home studios and you will need to shop for a laptop that has two
inputs. Using a splitter will not help because of the computer design. Technology takes a step forward while taking a step back.
