So I need a laptop that can output HDR content on a TV, cheaper - better as it will have a more than enough spec for my use.

Any suggestions? ideally i'd like to spend less than 1k if possible. Thanks

Get a smart TV with HDR and run the apps there. Or any media streamer that supports HDR. Roku seems to, I'm sure others do also since HDR is the new catch phrase like 4k used to be. https://www.roku.com/hdr Before it was all "hey, you got 4k? Who has 4k? Got 4k for me"? Now it's same thing with HDR.

Thanks, but that did not helped with my problem. I was wondering maybe with Nvidia shield it's possible to cast an HDR content from a laptop that does not have HDMI 2.0a or higher? Or there is any other solution to get the HBO GO, Netflix and movies from SSD to be played on the HDR TV?
Anyone?
