So I recently bought a laptop for programming and VMs with an Intel i7 7700HQ, GTX 1050 and a 500GB NVMe SSD, and I truly love it. There is only one small "issue". When I'm working on the battery, my cpu seems to be locked to reach over 60% usage, so I can only reach a clockspeed of 1.68 GHz on all four cores, while it's reaching 3.81 GHz when powered by the adapter. Is there any way I could turn off this power-saving feature, because extra speed is always welcome 😉

That is one of the first things I'm doing when I set up a new computer for myself. I have also tried playing with the "Maximum processor frequency", yet without any positive result. Also the system is not thermal throttling, since the maximum temperatures are about 65°C.

I've set the energy profile to maximum performance and I checked every setting in the Advanced Energy menu. Also I searched the BIOS, but there's no power saving options over there.

Well I contacted the company and apparently the laptop is limited to 60% CPU usage on battery use, because the battery would die too fast if it would have to power both the GPU and CPU at once.
