Laptop won't turn on

So I was using my laptop in the living room and while it was plugged in, my niece flipped the power switch on the power strip and it crashed. I got it to turn back on after a few tries yesterday and this morning but now it won't. The power light turns on and the disc drive starts spinning but it doesn't do anything after that. It charging light comes on when it's plugged in so I don't know what's wrong with it.

remove the battery, plug the charger in, hold the power button down for 30 seconds or so, then put the battery back after it reboots.

Nope. Didn't work. The lights turns on just like before but it never booted.

Does it bring up a bios screen and start to boot?

Try hitting delete after the first beep ... and see if it takes you into the bios screen.

No bios. I pressed delete after turning it on at different times because there's no beep but it didn't do anything.

Quick update. A couple minutes after I said pressing delete didn't do anything it starting beeping 3 times every few seconds. Now where the 4 leds are, the power is the only one that will turn on where before there was a cylinder shaped one that would turn on for a few seconds.

Dell Inspiron 3510? Something like that. I'm not home at the moment. I know it's an Inspiron for sure.
