Laptops replace tablets?

When you look at the progress you have made with 2-in-1's, where do you see the distinction between laptops and tablets going away? I suppose another way to ask is, when do we get to the point that there is no point in buying a tablet because laptops have the power and programs to beat the consideration of a tablet?

Typically, laptops have more ability then tablets due to having more powerfull cpu's available to them. this is usually a function of space to house the cooling solution. As tablets mature they continue to get better but it's definitely become a buyer beware market.
I'm waiting for a tablet with a slideout keybd myself; forget these rotating & folder over designs. LoL

Tablets still have a niche market. Personally, I want an 8" Windows tablet with 4GB of RAM, 64GB eMMC, and something a bit newer than Intel's Cherry Trail SoC from 2015. But sadly, Intel has abandoned the Atom CPUs due to mounting losses in an attempt to capture market share by selling Atom CPUs at a loss.

Windows tablets days are numbered, but there is still a market for Andriod tablets an the iPad.

You have things backwards, tablets likely took away sales from laptops, and laptops are still quite a bit more powerful than tablets, outside of the high end ones like the Surface, which are pretty much laptops with no keyboards. The Surface tables match the low to mid range laptops pretty well for speed, although not price or general usability. At some point the low end laptop market may get smaller as tablets and phones are used more and more for basic tasks.
