Lenovo g570 battery

Mom bought a Lenovo G570 in August, 2011. It only works when plugged in, and the status bar has the battery at 0%.
Is this acceptable after just under a year of modest use, and can I get a new battery from the manufacturer?

yeah thats most definitely acceptable after a year of modest use. typical for any g570 battery. i dont see why you are complaining yours lasted quite long. if anything you should be happy and buy a new one from the manufacturer
