lenovo ideapad 100 black screen

No matter what I try, my laptop screen is almost completely black when I turn it on. There is a VERY faint image and I have to sit at a certain angle to see properly. I'm pretty sure it's the screen but I want to be 100% certain so I don't waste money. It is a Lenovo ideapad 100. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Make sure the backlight is turned all the way up,otherwise it sounds like there is a problem with it.
