Lenovo ideapad p400 touch become dim display

i tried working hard to fix my laptop display.can anyone suggest how can i fix that problem(dim display) ...?
if it is hardware problem how can i rectify that....? what to check if it is software problem..?my Lenovo laptop has windows 8

hello there i would recommend trying and adjusting the brightness in your control panel if that does not work then i would most likely suspect your screen is going bad hope this helps

Thank you so much i tried to increase my brightness through control panel but the problem when i increase or decrease the brightness remains same. is there any alternative to increase brightness
