Hello guys,
So my Y50 UHD has been in the repair center for well over a month now. I kept calling them and asked them what was taking so long to the point where they escalated my ticket to a customer relations manager. Long story short, they told me they will replace my Y50 to a new laptop that is equivalent in specs. I used to be up to date with computer hardware but its been a while. Will you guys help me figure out what specs I should be receiving, based on what I had back when I ordered the laptop in Feb. 2015. My Y50 UHD specs were/are:

ThinkPad T440
Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop (MultiTouch) - Black - UHD Display
Price: $1,488.10
• 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4710HQ Processor (2.50GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
• Windows 8.1 64
• 15.6'' UHD LED MultiTouch Glossy (3840x2160)
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 4GB
• 16.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
• 512GB SSD
• Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
• Bluetooth Version 4.0
• 4 Cell 54 Watt Hour Lithium-Ion
• 3YR Depot

I'm not sure if anyone else was in a similar situation, but I figured since this laptop is so old (tech wise), they will offer me a laptop with a similar price tag (thus the specs would be a bit better since there's newer technology out). Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

PS - for those wondering, the laptop was in the repair center for a broken hinge (which is a known issue for this laptop). Apparently they do not make the LCD back covers for this laptop anymore, or the production has been severely delayed.

That seems like a reasonable offer, that new pc will definitely outperform your current one. The 960m is not quite as powerful as the 1050 but it's close and it's more than enough for most games. Keep in mind that y700 is couple years old as well, I don't know if you have much negotiating power but you could try to get the new y720 with 1080p screen I think it has a gtx 1060 IIRC. Since a 960m won't be able to play many games at 4k

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I noticed the production year of the Y700 was in 2015, but I figured I didn't have much wiggle room so I just went ahead and accepted the offer.
