Lenovo t530 replaced with new battery, but charge bulb doesnot turn on

The battery was replaced with a new one. And when it is plugged in for charging, the charging light first blink green, then orange finally green and goes off. This happens with in 3 or 4 seconds. How to fix this

If you bought a cheap knock-off battery I'd first suspect a bad battery. If it's a real Lenovo battery, could be a bad charger, jack on the laptop or battery contacts.
