Lenovo T61P LCD Really low contrast

Hey guys,

I have this laptop Lenovo T61P , the lcd screen is really low contrast that I barely see anything, it's black like hell. I tried playing with the function key but it didnt help. I connected the laptop via vga cable to some monitor and it works fine. any solution?
(I believe the lcd is dead, but just to make sure that there isn't some options to solve it)

The backlight may have died - a common occurrence on laptop LCD screens. Unfortunately, in most cases, this means that the whole display may need to be replaced.
